Hi All and a Happy New Year!
“The great danger for most of us isn’t that our aim is too high and miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it” – Michelangelo
Not only is this a great quote, but it rings true for me in a lot of aspects of my life. With the New Year only a week ago it’s the time of the year where some of us set goals for the forth coming year. This year i’m one of them, yes it may be a little cliche but nether-the-less i have set some for what i want to achieve in golf this year;
I’m being focused and only picking 3 goals, i’m not going to share how i go about achieving them in this post, but please get in touch if you are interested.
I start 2019 playing off of 20.2, the goal is to get down to 16.4 or below. I want to be playing off of 16 by the end of 2019. The plan to achieve this will be a separate post in a few weeks
Yoga & Fitness
Since becoming a Father just under 5 years ago fitness and exercise has been neglected a fair bit. I use to train in martial arts which not only kept me in shape but allowed me to stay supple and flexible. With work, family and golf commitments, i want to do something that i can fit in easily that will help with flexibility and with some form of conditioning. Hence Yoga, this year i will be starting yoga and documenting how it helps with golf and general well being.
I will throw a little caveat in here, as part of my plans to cut my handicap i may end up doing a little more than Yoga but i will still be documenting the impacts of Yoga and anything else i do.
Rookie Golfer Blog
This year i will be taking the blog a lot more seriously, when i started last year i done it on a whim and didn’t realize the importance of planning content rather than writing nonsense for the sake of posting. I know i have just opened the door for a few sarcastic comments….
I’ve already started by changing the blog over to http://www.rookiegolfer.co.uk instead of the previous free domain name. Start as you mean to go on, as they say!
So this year i will be posting a new post every fortnight, and as a sneak peak below is a small list of some of the posts i’m working on:
- What’s In The Bag
- Driver vs Driver
- Yoga Update
- Handicap Plan & Updates
- Product Reviews
- Surprise Blog Series – currently in planning stage but hoping to announce this month.
If you are a golf business or golfer of any sort and want to be involved in my journey this year please get in touch.
Finally please subscribe to the Rookie Golfer Blog by filling out the below to stay up to date with new posts, news and giveaways.
Until Next Time, Happy Golfing!
